Organized by the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), BITSAT is the gateway to admission into Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The BITSAT entrance exam is for admission into integrated first-degree programs across its campuses. Applicants must be acquainted with the format and syllabus of the exam, which is computer-based. What is BITSAT Exam 

The BITSAT exam, as mentioned above, is for admissions into specific programs offered by BITS. Some of the best degrees offered by the institute include BE Civil, Chemical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Manufacturing Engineering and Mechanical. Other courses in the tally also include B Pharma and MSc in Biological Sciences, Gen Studies, Economics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Candidates can take the BITSAT entrance exam a maximum of two times.

BITSAT Exam Dates 2024

The BITSAT 2024 details have not been released as of yet. The details will be updated for 2024–2025 by January 2024. 

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT Exam

The eligibility criteria for the BITSAT exam include the following: 

  • Candidates should have passed their 12th examination from a recognized state/central board or equivalent with physics, mathematics, and chemistry (PCM) and adequate English proficiency. 
  • For B Pharma admission, candidates should adhere to the above-mentioned guidelines, although they should have physics, chemistry, or biology. Candidates with PCM can also apply for the pharmacy course. 
  • The minimum aggregate marks should be 75% for candidates in PCM or PCB in the 12th standard examination, with at least 60% each in physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology. 
  • Those appearing for the 12th class examination in the year or who have passed in the earlier year are eligible to appear there. 

Exam Pattern of BITSAT Exam

Here are some of the key aspects of the examination pattern: 

  • The online tests are held at centres throughout India, Dubai, and Nepal from May-July every year (in two sessions).
  • Scores are shown immediately on the screen after the test, and students can take printouts from the website the next day. 
  • The test will comprise Physics, English Proficiency, Chemistry, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics/Biology. 
  • It will span three hours, and the questions will all be objective-type (multiple choice) questions based on the present NCERT syllabus. 
  • The Physics and Chemistry sections have 40 questions each, while the Mathematics section has 45 questions. The English and Reasoning section has 25 questions. 


Application Process for BITSAT Exam

The BITSAT exam admission process involves several steps. Here’s a quick rundown of the crucial steps. 

  • Registration of names is the first step through the application in the given BITSAT exam application form online. This has to be done at http://www.bitsadmission.com while paying the fees likewise. 
  • Fill BITSAT-2024 online application form. Ensure you keep your login credentials, application number and password secure. 
  • Make the online payment securely. The form printout has to be kept for reference in the future. The application fees (₹5,400 for male candidates and ₹4,400 for female candidates) have to be paid by candidates selected to appear in two sessions. 
  • Until May 2024, applicants can make revisions to the form.

Note: Those appearing once should pay ₹3,400 (male) or ₹2,900 (female), while if candidates wish to apply again, then ₹2,000 (male) or ₹1,500 (female) has to be paid. 

FAQs

Is BITSAT tougher than JEE?

It is hard to say which of these examinations is tougher. BITSAT and JEE Mains are almost at similar levels and require a vast understanding of core concepts. 

When will the BITSAT 2024 application form process begin?

The BITSAT admission details for 2024-25 will be notified within a few days as per the official website. It should be uploaded in January itself.  

Is BITS better than NIT?

It cannot be said which examination is better. Both NIT and BITS are prestigious technology institutions. They are both known for their academic infrastructure, excellent faculty, and high teaching and learning quality.
