PGDCA- Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application

What is PGDCA? The full form of PGDCA is Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application. The PGDCA is a full-time, one-year diploma program that aims to provide students a thorough understanding of computer programming, as well as an introduction to the theory and applications of computer science and some exposure to statistics and mathematics. 

After completing it successfully, the students will be prepared to work in government agencies or private, multinational corporations as software developers, hardware engineers, system designers, system analysts, networking engineers, DBAs, software testers, security analysts, data/risk/statistical analysts, etc.

Program Overview

PGDCA students will attend the course in ISI Kolkata's Giridih branch, but they will also occasionally need to visit ISI Kolkata for other purposes, such as educational seminars or placement training.

For this course, attendance of 100% is required. For all programs, there are two exams every semester: the mid-semester and the final semester test. 

The weighted average of the results from the midterm and final exams, homework assignments, practical record-book, projects, and other assessments is the composite score for a certain course. This score is disclosed at the start of the semester.

PGDCA Syllabus

• Fundamental of Computer & M S Office – Introduction to the Computer System, Input and Output Devices, Primary and Secondary Storage Devices, Number System, Boolean Algebra and Logic Circuits, Computer Software, Programming Languages, and Operating System are all covered in Fundamentals of Computer & M S Office. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and FrontPage software.
• Database Using MS Access, MySQL – MySQL and MS Access Database Introduction, Putting MySQL into practice, utilizing the My SQL monitor, creating database models and designs, interacting with database structures, backup and recovery, and a PHP-based web database application that uses Pearl to interact with a My SQL database.
• VB.Net Programming- This includes Web Services, ADO.NET, SQL Server authentication, Windows Forms I and II, ASP.NET and Web Forms, Visual Basic.Net Language, and the Net Framework.
• Photoshop - Introduction to Page Maker in DTP, Recognizing the features of Page Maker The menus for files, editing, layout, types, elements, utilities, viewing, and windows Introduction to Photoshop Image Dimensions, Color Mode, and Image Opening Utilizing Layers Including further pictures, adding text, cropping, solid colour regions, and saving your Photoshop image. Coreldraw Graphics Suite installation Coral draws the basics—lines, shapes, and outline—first. Sketching forms, sculpting objects, adding layers, fills, and transparency to objects, applying special effects, Formatting text, controlling fonts, managing file formats, bitmaps, printing, web graphics, pages and layout, customizing, and automating.
