Inference and Rhetorical: The purpose of the TOEFL exam pattern and reading syllabus inference questions is to explain and identify the passage's ambiguous statement. Candidates can identify inference questions by looking at words like 'INFERRED,' 'IMPLIES,' and 'SUGGESTS.' With the exception of answering the question 'WHY,' which indicates the purpose, rhetorical purpose questions are very similar.
