Germany to begin registrations for Student visa appointments

Germany to begin with new appointment slots for student visa applications from 1st November 2022. The German embassy will perform it through Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) Global.

“As there still are a number of entries on the appointment waitlist for winter semester 2022, please note that unfortunately, it is not possible for the embassy/consulates to verify who is in possession of a still valid admission from a German university. Therefore, all students are kindly requested to register for an appointment only if they have obtained all mandatory documents,” the German embassy mentioned on the Delhi website.

If you are planning to apply to universities in Germany, it is mandatory to get Academic Evaluation Center (APS) certificates. The German Mission in India said it is important for Indian students as part of documents along with visa applications. To process registration, APS has opened from 1st October 2022.

“In order to accelerate student admission and visa processing, the German Embassy introduces the APS, attached to the Science Section of this Embassy,” the embassy said.

Significance of APS certificate

One of the prerequisite documents when applying for a German student visa is an APS certificate. It is reliable proof for Indian academic documents. It is crucial to evaluate the admission eligibility criteria per German universities.

The students sponsored by German or European Union-funded scholarships do not need an APS certificate.
