Laurentian University was founded in 1960 with the Senate and Board of Governors formally approving the gold and blue team colors. Laurentian University, Canada, also went into a historic agreement with the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1966 for hosting a tracking station.
