The National Medical Commission (NMC) has said that Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) who have completed medical courses in foreign medical institutes (courses equivalent to MBBS in India) in an offline mode with or without one year of internship and return to India need to obtain provisional registration from the State Medical Council concerned and thereafter undergo one-year Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) as per the CRMI Regulation, 2021.

List of MCI Recognised Medical Colleges Abroad 

Looking for the MCI-approved medical colleges abroad list? You should know this! 

The Medical Council of India had earlier provided a list of foreign medical universities or institutions for MBBS or equivalent programs based on the data gathered from the High Commission of India or the Indian Embassy.

Yet, such a list is no longer provided for aspirants. This is because the National Medical Commission (NMC), now the authority in place of the previous Medical Council of India (MCI), does not endorse or provide any such list of foreign institutions. 

A notification in 2018 for the Screening Test regulations mentions that all Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) or Indian citizens with primary qualifications (medical) from any foreign institution must qualify for the screening test to get Indian registration while adhering to other criteria.
