History of Saint Peter’s University
Saint Peter’s College was the first and only Jesuit catholic college founded in 1872. The first class in the college took place on September 2, 1878. There were a total of 71 students enrolled for the various preparatory department. From 71 to 123, the enrollment increased y 1879.
By 1900, Saint Peter’s college started the bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. It had 63 undergraduate degrees and 26 post-graduation degrees.
On August 17, 2012, Saint Peter’s College came to be called at Saint Peter’s University. It continues to adhere to Christianity’s academic excellence and morals in delivering the best of education to its students.
Education system
Saint Peter’s University has five colleges or schools for varied disciplines and specializations. The five colleges or schools are College of Arts & Sciences, Caulfield School of Education, School of Nursing, Frank J. Guarini School of Business, and School of Professional and Continuing Education.
There are 50 undergraduate programs, 13 graduate and 118 full-time faculty members. The education system at Saint Peter’s University is wholly based on research methodology for STEM background students.
The education system is flexible and follows a semester-based education system. Every academic year is divided into two semesters. Students can enroll in the classroom, hybrid, and distance online courses and programs. The professors are committed to excellence in higher education.
University has an academic affiliation with AJCU, ACCU, CIC, NAICU, and Sea Grant. The university offers morning and evening educational shifts to study at their convenience. The evening classes are offered in Jersey City, Englewood Cliffs, and South Amboy.

Saint Peter’s University Requirements: Examination
Examination required for undergraduate courses: ACT and SAT are accepted scores at Saint Peter’s University. The minimum average ACT score is 20, and for SAT, the average score is 1030-1048 (out of 1600) as per the Saint Peter’s University acceptance. Undergraduate students need to attempt these examinations. Students who fall in the category of test-optional applicants for the ACT and SAT need to submit an essay along with their official high school transcript and letter of recommendation. The essay prompt needs to be taken seriously by the students as it forms a substitute for ACT/SAT requirements. The average GPA requirement is 3.29 for St Peter’s University.
English language proficiency test
