Q. How many scholarships can you get in Australia ?

An international student in Australia can get more than one scholarship and avail of them simultaneously. The requirement is to meet the eligibility conditions. There may be some scholarships which will not permit another scholarship to be taken up at the same time.  Such details will be available in the scholarship document, so read carefully before applying. Student scholarships in Australia include institute-specific scholarships, which are offered individually by the universities to the students based on their academic performance or other criteria. Australian government awards: These are available to students from the Asia Pacific, including India, or sometimes globally. These include the following:

Australia Leadership Awards: These are for long-term post-graduate study at the master’s level or a doctorate.

Endeavour Awards: This is the Australian government’s merit-based scholarship and can be applied by students from all over the world. The Endeavour scholarship is specific and cannot be clubbed with another award. The exception to this is the Endeavour Europe Award.

Destination Australia Program: This is an Australian government program that offers scholarships to domestic and international students to study in regional Australia, which means other than major Australian cities.

Research Training Program (RTP): This scholarship by the Australian government provides support to domestic and international students for undertaking research doctorate as well as research masters level degrees.

Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS): The Australia Awards scholarships are prestigious, coveted and highly competed for.  This Australian government award is only for international students from Australia’s partner countries undertaking a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at any of the participating Australian universities.  The AAS is fully funded and covers full tuition fees, return airfares, and living and establishment expenses. The student’s area of study under this award must necessarily relate to his or her country's priority areas for development.  Any student awarded the Australia Awards Scholarships cannot avail of any other Australian government scholarship simultaneously.
