Q. Can a student get multiple scholarships?

Yes, a student can get multiple scholarships in Canada. Although Canada is considered an affordable country for studies, it can still be expensive for international students. To help such students, the universities in Canada grant scholarships to them.

Scholarships in Canada help students to study in Canada by granting them some fee concessions or waiving the study fees completely. The scholarships are given to the students based on various factors such as the percentage of the student, performance of the student in extracurricular activities, the financial condition of the student, and so on. The scholarships based on these factors are open to all students. On the other hand, some scholarships are restricted to only students with disabilities.

There are various kinds of scholarships in Canada, such as merit-based scholarships, financial scholarships, government-funded scholarships, country-based scholarships, privately-funded scholarships, and many more. There is no restriction on how many scholarships a student can apply for. And it is even possible for a student to be selected for more than one scholarship. The only thing to note here is that some universities decrease the amount of scholarship if the child is getting another scholarship.

You must note that whenever you apply for any scholarship in Canada, you must also apply for the desired program at the university. The universities send the letter of admission to the students before granting them scholarships. Therefore, you must always secure admission to your chosen program at the university.

Also, you must always review the terms and conditions of all the scholarships once you are selected for them. This is because the terms and conditions are different for students who have secured more than one scholarship. This will avoid any inconvenience and will make the entire process of availing the scholarship smooth for you.
