Q. What should you do if the scholarship is rejected?

There are instances where your application for a scholarship gets rejected. This can happen for various reasons. You must act proactively in such circumstances and try to know the reasons for the rejection of your application. The universities in Canada have a separate committee that handles the task of accepting and rejecting scholarship applications.

You can get in touch with any of the committee members and must try to know why your scholarship application was rejected. You can contact them by writing a letter or by sending an email.

Taking the feedback from the scholarship committee will help you know the flaws in your application, and therefore, you can improve your chances of getting a scholarship in the future. If you appeal to them in the correct manner, chances are that they may consider your application once again.

Sometimes, it is also possible that scholarships are not granted to more students because of a shortage of funding. In such cases, you can apply for the other scholarship programs and also apply for the other country-based scholarships. You must note that students who apply for scholarships more often and are active are likely to get scholarships more easily.

The government, local chambers, and community organizations also offer college scholarships. These scholarships are not known to many students, and therefore they remain unclaimed. You can also fill out the application for these scholarships if you don't get one from your university.

Federal scholarships are also offered to the students to pay out their tuition fees and living expenses of the student till they find their first job. While they are not the same as University scholarships, you can still apply for such student aid. You must not be disheartened and can follow such steps if your scholarship application gets rejected.
