This was followed by the Aberdeen Mechanics’ Institution in 1824 and Robert Gordon’s College in 1881. The name became the Robert Gordon Institute of Technology in 1991, followed by the university status in 1992. The university has a big campus named Garthdee campus. It's wonderful parkland, beside the river Dee. The walkways, striking architecture and mature trees provide a beautiful place to rest and re-energize.
