One of the major USPs of the University of Bolton is the fact that the tuition fees for foreign and international students are very competitive and affordable than the other universities of the UK. This university was established as the Bolton Mechanics Institute in 1824, and ultimately got its current name in 2005 after going through a host of changes. 

Accreditation, number of students and faculties

The University of Bolton is officially recognised by the privy council and all the undergraduate courses of the university are now separately accredited by different professional bodies. For instance, the Mechanical Engineering degrees of the college are accredited by the IMechE which means that the graduates from this university achieving this status are able to use the designatory Chartered Engineering (CEng) or Incorporated Engineering (IEng). The total number of students enrolled in this university was 11,000 as of Fall 2021. There are approximately 700 academic staff in the university.

The campus of the University of Bolton is situated right at the heart of Bolton, which is known for its growing and renowned cultural scene and it is also one of the most vibrant towns of the UK. The beautiful location of the campus is one of the attractions of the university. The Queen Specialist Building of the university houses smart classrooms, modern laboratories, and a biochemistry and cell imaging suite.

Admission eligibility criteria 

• Applicants with UCAS points from subjects such as Critical Thinking and General Studies at AS-Level/A2-Level are generally accepted. 
• Applicants having 16 points at levels 3 and 4, or higher sports leadership awards, or a free-standing Mathematics qualification are generally accepted. 
• Applicants must secure 5 GCSE at Grade 4 or higher, or its equivalent for most undergraduate courses such as Maths and English. 
• For some undergraduate courses, applicants may have to attend an audition, interview or other assessments.
