This university is the first in the world to host emergency management degree programs to be accredited by the Foundation on Higher Education in Disaster/Emergency Management and Homeland Security. With a total enrollment of more than 10,000 students, this university has been recognised as the third largest university of higher learning in the States. University Campus, Facilities, Labs and Courses
There are many laboratories and facilities in the main campus and buildings of Arkansas Tech University. The department of mechanical engineering uses four labs for instructional purposes. The department of electrical engineering has six laboratories for instructional purposes. There are a few labs in the campus for mechanical engineering research. The department of curriculum and instruction facility is situated in the Crabaugh Hall which includes an avatar classroom and a computer lab. There are many learning labs for Hospitality Administration students. There is also a site design lab and state-of-the-art facility. There are parks and recreational facilities for the students living in the campus. There are a few health and physical education facilities and art facilities for art students.

Admission eligibility criteria
Freshman
- Applicants must have a composite ACT score of 19 or higher, composite SAT score of 990 or higher on the RSAT scale of 1600, or a composite SAT score of 1330 on the former SAT exam on a scale of 2400, or a composite ACCUPLACER score of 67.
- The student must complete graduation requirements from a private secondary school, or a public secondary school, or from a homeschool program that documents at least 2.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0 or a minimum GED score of 600.
Graduate
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
- The applicant must secure a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or a 3.0 on the last 30 hours of undergraduate work or hold a graduate degree from an institution which is regionally accredited.
