The University of Lowa is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Many of its programs also maintain specialized with recognized accrediting agencies in their fields. Some of them are BBA, MBA, Dentistry, School Psychology, Law and various others. It had a total of 31,317 enrollments for its fall semester of 2022.
University Campus, Facilities, Labs, and Courses

Streams, Courses and Acceptance Rate
The University has 11 colleges that offer programmes in different fields including medicine, dentistry, education, engineering, law, arts, sciences, aerospace, public health, business, computer science, management etc. In total it has over 200 programmes in majors, minors and international courses. The acceptance rate at the University of Lowa is around 82.6%.
Admission Eligibility Criteria
The University of Lowa is a bit stringent with its criteria and chooses to select students who were above average in their high school. They require a GPA of 3.2 or above for high school and the student must send either their SAT or ACT scores to complete the application process. They can apply either through the University of Lowa application or the Common Application. They also need to submit an application fee of USD 55 which is a non-refundable fee. Students who fail to submit their SATs or ACTs during the time of application shall have to send additional academic documents, a personal statement or a transcript to confirm the admission decision. However, depending on the streams that they are applying for, the students may be required to meet additional criteria or submit additional documentation to be able to get their admission decision. Once a student gets selected they need to pay an additional fee of USD 325 after which they can set up their college ID, make reservations for the orientation and apply for university housing if they choose to live on campus. To be eligible for admission the student must have attained a GPA of 3.2 or above. Most students admitted to the University have their SAT scores between 1130 and 1150. Whereas the ACT scores are usually between 22 and 29. The university also has different criteria for different streams the student is applying for and those criteria must also be met.
Documents Required
The students applying shall need an SOP, LOR and any additional documents that are required by them. Depending upon the programme you are applying for a student shall also need to show their SAT or ACT score, IELTS or TOEFL scores.
