Course Curriculum 

The M.S. in CS at Stony Brook University offers three project options: Basic Project, Advanced Project, and Thesis. 

• Basic Project involves broad coverage of Computer Science & one project-oriented coursework. 
• Advanced Project involves a more extensive two-semester project guided by a faculty advisor. 
• Thesis requires conducting a research project with a faculty advisor over 2–3 semesters and writing a dissertation.
