CII Full Form- The Confederation of Indian Industry

What is CII? The full form of CII is the Confederation of Indian Industry. 

India's Confederation of Indian business (CII) works with government, business, and civil society to create and preserve an environment that supports India's development through advisory and consultative processes. 

CII is a non-governmental, non-profit, industry-led, and industry-managed organization with about 9,000 members from the public and private sectors, including SMEs and MNCs. 

Furthermore, 286 regional and national sectoral industrial associations include approximately 300,000 enterprises that are indirect members of the organization. For more than 150 years, the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has actively aided in India's development and transformed the way Indian industry advances the nation. 

Additionally, it provides a venue for networking and agreement-making on significant subjects.

The Functions of CII

• More than 500 "Intellectual Groups" from CII operate at the national and local levels in a variety of industry sectors. These organizations include task forces, working groups, councils, and committees. These organizations help members' concerns be heard by government officials, regulators, think tanks, and other relevant parties. 
• In order to increase the competitive edge of Indian industry through research, training, and consulting, CII has established specialized centers of excellence. These centers provide the sector specialized services that help businesses cut expenses while increasing productivity and competitiveness. 
• When the historic Rio Summit was held in 1991, CII started encouraging industrial participation in environmental and climate change issues. 
• CII showcases India's status as a reliable and dependable partner while also establishing connections between Indian industry and many stakeholders worldwide. As part of its global activities, CII collaborates closely with the government of India to discover best practices, open up new markets, and draft policies that support trade and growth in India.
