What is CMA? The full form of CMA is Certified Management Accountant.

The CMA USA and CMA Canada are the two designations for Certified Management Accountants in North America. Although the exam requirements for writing the CMA vary by Canadian province, they are often very comparable.

Every province has a CMA board that keeps a record of the approved programs.

Candidates must have finished a university program which has been recognized by the CMA board in order to be eligible to write the CMA Canada.

Upon earning their degree from an accredited university, candidates must take the CMA entrance exam. They can only enrol in and be accepted into the two-year CMA Strategic Leadership Program after passing this, during which they will complete case studies and make a presentation to the CMA board.

How can someone become a CMA in Canada?

  • Obtaining a university degree or a practical degree.
  • Finishing particular coursework. Applicants can enrol in CMA Ontario's rigorous 7-month Accelerated Program or finish the necessary coursework in an undergraduate or graduate program. Courses taken in an undergraduate, graduate, or accelerated program require a minimum grade of 60%.
  • Getting through the admission test. A comprehensive examination of accounting knowledge is the CMA Entrance Exam.
  • Finishing a two-year program in strategic leadership. There are two parts to this program, which runs concurrently with full-time employment. The first year is called the Development Phase, and applicants must take the CMA Case Exam after finishing the necessary modules. Candidates move on to the SLP's Application Phase after completing the CMA Case Exam, which ends with a CMA Board Report.

The Entrance Examination is a thorough assessment of the accounting information students have learned in college. The following subject areas addressed in the Entrance Examination are the emphasis of the testing: Accounting for Management, Finance, Taxation, and Corporate Finance. The remaining CMA competencies will make up a lesser amount of the exam, roughly 15%.
