NSS Full Form - National Service Scheme

NSS was established in 1969 with the aim of developing students' personalities through community service. With a motto of - "Not Me But You,” NSS has engaged students from schools, colleges, and universities.

• NSS volunteers do several tasks, like saving the environment, promoting health, supporting literacy, and helping during disasters. The program is built into the schooling system. 
• Funded by Central and State governments in a ratio of 7:5.
• College and university students, and even folks who have completed their +2 education, can join. 
• NSS requires students to serve for 2 years, doing 120 hours of community service each year and participating in a special camp.
• Volunteering for social causes grows a sense of caring for others, helping the community, and keeping the country unified in young people.
• NSS aims to enable students to understand the community in which they work 
• It helps students understand themselves in relation to their community. 
• It motivates students to Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve students in problem-solving 
• This helps in developing a sense of social and civic responsibility among students. 
• It also utilizes students' knowledge to find practical solutions to individual and community problems.
