What is VTU? The full form of VTU is Visvesvaraya Technological University

Having established a 24 year tradition of distinction in engineering and technical education, research, and innovation, VTU is one of the biggest technological universities in India. 

It was established in 1998 to meet the need of Indian businesses for skilled technical laborers possessing solid theoretical knowledge and real-world experience. 

The university has accomplished the amazing challenge of unifying several institutions that were formerly linked with distinct universities, each with its own curricula, policies, and customs, under one roof. 

There are now 25 autonomous colleges, 1 constituent college, and 182 associated colleges in the university. Students attend classes at the university's associated institutions.

  • In addition, the institution offers 16 extension facilities for postgraduate studies and thirteen Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) centers spread throughout several associated colleges. There are over 2,305 departments at its associated universities in Karnataka that are recognized as research centers.
  • M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and PhD programs are available at the Jnana Sangama, Belagavi campus as well as in the regional and extension centers of VTU in Bangalore, Davangere, Gulbarga, and Mysore.
  • The institution provides Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) programs on 12 undergraduate boards and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) courses on 1 undergraduate board.
